Sustainable adapted versions of Allbirds' top-selling designs now available in new collection
The fashion industry is taking strides towards sustainability, and Allbirds is leading the charge with the launch of their new Remix Collection. The collection, which debuted today, includes two shoes: the Runner NZ Remix and the Cruiser Remix.
Both the Runner NZ Remix and the Cruiser Remix are designed to repurpose manufacturing waste. The uppers of the shoes are made from soft, durable yarn created from discarded fabrics like old T-shirts, with the help of textile recycling company Circ. The shoes in the Remix Collection are also made with textile-to-textile recycled materials and reclaimed foam scraps from athletic footwear manufacturing, via Blumaka.
The Runner NZ Remix and Cruiser Remix sneakers are available in an eternally stylish cream hue. They have a speckled outsole and are designed to be comfortable, with the Cruiser Remix boasting a supple, bouncy insole. The shoes are available in women's sizes 5-11 and men's sizes 8-14, with the Women's Runner NZ Remix and Cruiser Remix sneakers priced at $140, and the Men's Runner NZ Remix and Cruiser Remix sneakers priced at the same price.
The Remix Collection sneakers maintain Allbirds' reputation for durability, comfort, and high performance. They are produced using a unique hydrothermal recycling process that uses 99% less water and emits 65% fewer carbon emissions compared to traditional production. This makes the Remix Collection not only stylish but also environmentally friendly.
Blumaka, a company founded to produce inner soles for Allbirds sneakers by recycling foam materials, aims to create sustainable and environmentally friendly footwear components. The partnership between Allbirds and Blumaka is a testament to the brands' commitment to sustainability.
