Swimming Dolphin Offers Bold Display

The much-loved Dolphin Discovery Trail in Guernsey is coming to an exciting conclusion with the upcoming auction on Wednesday, 17 September at the Peninsula Hotel. This event, organised to raise funds for both the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey, has brought joy, colour, and community spirit to the island.

Artists have until Friday, 12 September, to make any necessary checks or repairs on their decorated dolphins. As of now, 61 out of 62 dolphins have been collected and are in storage for repairs and cleaning. The remaining dolphin in Herm will be brought back to Guernsey when the weather permits a safe crossing.

The trail has not only been a source of entertainment but also a platform for raising awareness and support for both Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA. The funds raised from the auction will directly benefit those supported by Autism Guernsey.

The public will have the opportunity to view the dolphins at the Charities' Seafront Sunday on 14 September. After this event, the dolphins will be on display at the Peninsula Hotel from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 September.

Early bids can be emailed to [email protected]. Tickets for the auction can be booked online, and the auction team will be present from 10:00 AM to take reserve bids and assist with any queries. The auction itself will start later that day, with bids starting at £500. Bids can still be placed online or by email, and arrangements for delivery can be made.

The Director of Autism Guernsey is excited to see the dolphins go to new homes at the auction. This unique event promises to be a memorable one, not only for the artistry on display but also for the difference it will make in the lives of those supported by Autism Guernsey.

For those interested in attending or bidding, more information can be found on the GSPCA's website or by contacting [email protected] or calling 257261. Don't miss this chance to be a part of something special while supporting a worthy cause!
