Taiwan establishes new office for Thai students to learn and study
Taiwan-Thailand International Talent Circulation Base Opens in Bangkok
The Taiwan-Thailand International Talent Circulation Base was officially opened in Bangkok on Friday, marking a significant step forward in the collaboration between the two countries in innovation and technology.
Peter Lan, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand, made the statement about the benefits of the collaboration for future joint efforts. The opening of the base is part of the Taiwanese Ministry of Education's action plan to attract more international students, particularly from Thailand.
Thailand is the sixth-largest source of international students in Taiwan, with nearly 5,000 students currently studying there. The Talent Circulation Base aims to help Thai students acquire job-ready skills in Taiwan and offers various resources to facilitate their pursuit of higher education.
The base provides academic exchange platforms and offers Mandarin preparatory courses. It also supports joint efforts between universities in Taiwan and Thailand through the International Industrial Talents Education Special Programmes. The cooperation aims to enhance hands-on training opportunities for Thai students in Taiwan.
The opening of the base followed the recent signing of an MoU on Technical and Vocational Education and Training Cooperation by the two governments. The MoU, signed on June 20, was intended to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The Taiwan Higher Education Fair and Job Counselling 2025 was held in Bangkok over the weekend, featuring 39 leading universities and 12 enterprises. The fair offered academic consultations, scholarship information, language test guidance, and internship opportunities in Taiwan.
The Talent Circulation Base is expected to build a strong foundation for future collaboration in innovation and technology between Thailand and Taiwan. The initiative is part of efforts to bring in more international students and provide them with the skills necessary to contribute to the global workforce.
Despite the lack of available information on the leaders of the International Industrial Talents Education Special Programmes of the Talent Circulation Bases at the Talent-Thailand International Talent Circulation Base in the provided search results, the opening of the base is a positive step towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Taiwan.
