Enjoying frequent vacations with my daughter, thanks to my successful reselling business side gig, brought in an additional £1,400 during the time you were watching TV.

Taking regular vacations with my daughter is made possible by my successful reselling side business, bringing in an income of £1,400 while others were merely watching television.

Rhianna, a 31-year-old single mum from the UK, has become a shining example of entrepreneurial spirit in these times of financial challenges. With her reselling side hustle on the online marketplace Vinted, she manages to afford multiple foreign holidays with her daughter and earns an impressive £30,000 a month.

In a single day, Rhianna made an astounding £1400 from her reselling activities on Vinted. She buys items from a "private supplier" and resells them on the platform, making a profit. Her success story has caught the attention of TikTok users, with comments such as "How do I start?" and "I'd love to get into this!" pouring in.

Rhianna's TikTok video @rhianna.resell has garnered over 174,000 views, inspiring others to dive into the world of reselling. Sales of second-hand goods in the UK jumped by 15% to £21 billion in 2022, reflecting the growing interest in this area.

Online marketplaces like Vinted and Depop have become increasingly popular, offering a solution to financial pressures in British homes. Vinted is free for sellers to upload items, and it charges buyers a small fee for each purchase. Rhianna uses the private delivery service “DPD” for her success in selling items on Vinted.

Business sellers trading for profit on Vinted may need to pay tax, but they can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000. Items sold on Vinted for more than £6,000 with a profit might be taxable, but a capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 can be used to offset it.

Rhianna's recent sales include a Dyson Airwrap for £220, a pair of Hermes sandals for £495, a pair of Dior shoes for £600, a Casablanca t-shirt for £95, and a Labubu for £250. Her reselling venture has transformed her life, allowing her to enjoy vacations with her daughter and build a sustainable income source.

One in six people now say they buy used items, according to research commissioned by review site Trustpilot. Rhianna's success story is a testament to the potential of reselling as a viable and profitable side hustle in the UK.
