Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rookie Safety Shilo Sanders Ejected from Preseason Game Against Buffalo

In a surprising turn of events during the preseason game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Buffalo Bills, rookie safety Shilo Sanders was ejected from the match.

The incident occurred during the second quarter, at the 6:59 mark, when Sanders took a swing at Buffalo's Zach Richardson, resulting in his disqualification. This unfortunate event overshadowed an otherwise competitive game.

Prior to his ejection, Sanders had been making an impact on the field. The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shilo Sanders played a total of 34 games across Colorado, South Carolina, and Jackson State. During this time, he accumulated 170 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 sack, 1 interception, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.

Shilo Sanders also had the opportunity to play football with his older brother Shedeur Sanders, who is a rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. The two brothers played together at Jackson State in 2021 and 2022.

The play that led to Sanders's ejection started at the Tampa 11 yard line. The pass before the ejection was a 1-yard pass to Elijah Moore. However, the most significant play was the touchdown pass for 11 yards, completed by Buffalo's Shane Buechele to Tyrell Shavers, which gave the Bills a 14-3 advantage.

It's worth noting that Shilo Sanders was an undrafted free agent, adding an extra layer of scrutiny to his ejection from the game. His coach at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Todd Bowles, will likely address the incident in the coming days.

Despite the setback, Sanders has shown potential and will undoubtedly look to bounce back from this incident as the regular season approaches. The Buccaneers, on the other hand, will need to regroup and focus on the rest of their preseason games.
