Tech Exhibition in Lagos, 2025: Prominent Cybersecurity and Information Communication Technology (ICT) solutions displayed at the Tech Expo
The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) 2025, currently running, has brought together global giants like AMD and NVIDIA, as well as smaller multinationals, to showcase their offerings and position themselves for the digital transformation of Nigeria. On Wednesday, September 3rd, the focus shifted to the Tech Expo at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
Enterprise ICT Solutions Take Centre Stage
The Tech Expo primarily showcased cybersecurity and enterprise ICT solutions, with companies like AMD, ManageEngine, PingIdentity, and Sechpoint showcasing their offerings. AMD, for instance, showcased their 7000 series GPUs for gaming and the brand-new Radeon AI Pro R9700, built for AI inference and heavy enterprise workloads. ManageEngine showcased a wide suite of products dedicated to monitoring, managing, and securing digital enterprises. PingIdentity focuses on identity and access management (IAM), securing digital experiences for businesses. Sechpoint, a Dubai-based cybersecurity distributor, featured partners like Seclore, PingIdentity, Kron, Securiti, Forescout, Threatlocker, and SailPoint.
Local Players and New Offerings
Nigerian companies were also well-represented at the event. Zinox, a Nigerian company, showcases locally assembled laptops at the expo. MTN, a telecommunications giant, is promoting FibreX, a high-speed fibre internet service for homes and businesses. They also showcased a new data centre in Ikeja, designed to provide scalable, secure, and locally hosted digital services for enterprises.
Robotics and AI
The Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) showcased two robot prototypes, Hope and Help Buddy, for service, assistance roles, and heavy-duty assistance respectively. Although neither robot was fully operational at the event, plans for refinement and mass-production are in place if testing proves successful.
ICT Solutions for Enterprises
Task, a full-fledged ICT solutions provider for enterprises in Nigeria and across Sub-Saharan Africa, partnering with global brands like Dell and Huawei, was also present. BluDive, a Nigeria-based ICT solution provider, showcased a comprehensive portfolio including technical support, system integration, cybersecurity, cloud services, database security, and enterprise infrastructure management.
Meeting the Needs of the Market
AMD had a presence at GITEX Nigeria 2025 through their distributor XFX, who were seeking local partners to help expand into the Nigerian market. AMD's distributor XFX does not sell directly to customers, but rather focuses on bulk sales and partnerships to establish a foothold in the Nigerian market.
Monitoring and Encryption
Seclore focuses on encrypting and storing information for organizations, classifying that data, and providing enterprises with complete control over access. Meetbox offers a smart video-conferencing system with intelligent features and exclusive distributorship deals with major global manufacturers. The system integrates with popular conferencing apps like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet.
Competitive Landscape
Nvidia had a booth at the expo, but their display felt dated and lacked recent offerings compared to AMD's push with their newest products. The only hardware available to check out was the GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, which originally launched in 2022.
The GITEX Nigeria 2025 Tech Expo at Eko Hotel reflects where the real energy and investment are flowing, focusing on enterprise ICT, cloud, data centres, and infrastructure. It showcases how global and local players alike are positioning themselves to power the region's digital transformation.
