Teenager boasts about his high-tempered electric scooter

In the quiet town of Limburg, Germany, a 17-year-old found himself in hot water after being stopped by local authorities for speeding on an e-scooter.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at 07:15, as the teenager was racing down Blumenroder Straße. The Ordnungsamt Limburg measured his speed at an alarming 40 km/h, well above the maximum allowed speed of 20 km/h for e-scooters on the street.

Upon being stopped, the teenager showed no remorse, boasting that his e-scooter, which originates from China, could actually go up to 50 km/h. This claim was later confirmed by the authorities.

The police unit that stopped the teenager is now investigating further. Alongside the speeding offence, they are investigating whether the 17-year-old was driving without a license and whether there has been a violation of the compulsory insurance law.

Moreover, the cancellation of the operating permit for the e-scooter is also under investigation. The e-scooter, it seems, was not registered and did not have a valid operating permit.

The police unit's actions did not stop with the prohibition of further travel of the teenager's e-scooter. They have also seized the modified electric roller skate as evidence.

This incident serves as a reminder that safety regulations are in place for a reason and should be adhered to, especially when using such high-speed vehicles. The police unit in Limburg continues to investigate this case and encourages all road users to respect the rules and ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
