Teleshop in Omaruru, operated by Telecom Namibia, resumes services, enhancing regional communication networks
Telecom Namibia Strengthens Presence in Omaruru
Telecom Namibia, the country's leading telecommunications provider, has made significant strides in the town of Omaruru. The company has reopened its Teleshop, marking a commitment to enhancing telecommunications services in the region.
The reopening ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, community leaders, and esteemed guests. Honorable Vincent Kahua, the Mayor of Omaruru, stated that the reopened Teleshop represents a significant investment that will help meet the growing demand for communication and information in the community.
The Omaruru Teleshop, strategically located in the heart of the town, serves as a testament to Telecom Namibia's commitment to providing reliable and advanced ICT solutions. The decision to reopen the Teleshop was driven by several key factors, including the region's diverse economy, tourism potential, mineral deposits, high mobile phone and radio penetration, and low direct internet connectivity.
Omaruru's existing mobile, fixed-wireless, and VSAT connectivity, coupled with abundant water resources, supports sustainable agricultural development. In line with this, Telecom Namibia is expanding its mobile base stations in the Erongo Region and accelerating the rollout of fiber infrastructure to improve connectivity for residential, commercial, and governmental clients.
The reopening of the Teleshop aligns with Omaruru's diverse sectors, including education, healthcare, government, tourism, and banking, all set to benefit from enhanced internet and telecommunication services. Telecom Namibia's Head of the Regional Office in the Erongo region, Mr. Abraham Ihawu, reaffirmed the company's unwavering commitment to serving Omaruru and the surrounding areas, ensuring access to digital tools necessary for success in the modern era.
In a show of community spirit, Telecom Namibia employees donated sanitary towels valued at N$4,000 to S.I.!Gobs Secondary School. This gesture reflects their commitment to dignity, education, and community upliftment.
The reopening of the Teleshop in Omaruru is a strategic initiative supporting Telecom Namibia's Integrated Strategic Business Plan for 2023-2027. The company looks forward to continuing to serve the Omaruru community and contribute to its growth and development.
