In the upcoming US Open tournament, the second seeded Iga Swiatek of Poland will begin her campaign on Monday against Colombia's Emiliana Arango. Swiatek, a 24-year-old tennis player, has been making waves in the tennis world, having recently won the Cincinnati Open in her latest tournament.

Swiatek's victory in Cincinnati followed her triumph at Wimbledon in July, where she claimed the prestigious title. Interestingly, Swiatek, who was previously considered a clay-court specialist, has been demonstrating her prowess on faster surfaces as well, suggesting she is becoming a more consistent threat on these surfaces.

Swiatek attributes her recent success to the techniques she learned during her preseason training. During this period, she worked with new coach Wim Fissette, whom she appointed in October of the previous year. The focus of their training was adapting to faster surfaces.

Swiatek's coach change seemed to have paid off, as she felt she returned to her usual form after the Roland Garros tournament. This was evident in her victories at Wimbledon and the Cincinnati Open.

Despite her recent successes, Swiatek remains humble and does not consider herself the favorite to win the US Open this year. She believes that women's tennis is unpredictable, a sentiment shared by many in the sport.

In her career, Swiatek has already amassed six Grand Slam titles, including the US Open in 2022. She is comfortable with the expectations that come with her success, but remains focused on improving her game and taking each match one step at a time.

As she prepares to face Arango in the first round of the US Open, Swiatek will undoubtedly be a player to watch. Her ability to adapt and her consistent performance on various surfaces make her a formidable opponent for any player.

In the meantime, Swiatek's coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski, will continue to guide her, helping her navigate the challenges of the tournament and striving for another Grand Slam victory.
