Tennis Player Swiatek Victorious Over Anisimova, Claims Wimbledon Title and Earns $4.05 Million Prize Fund

In the world of tennis, two players have been making headlines this year – Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek. While one experienced a setback at Wimbledon, the other secured her sixth Slam title.

Amanda Anisimova, born in New Jersey and raised in Florida, began her 2025 Wimbledon campaign with a pedestrian 25-12 win-loss record. However, her journey came to an end in the qualifying round, failing to reach the main draw of the tournament. This disappointing result marked the end of her wild Wimbledon ride and saw her tennis ranking dip as low as 442.

Anisimova, who did not qualify for the 2024 Wimbledon main draw, has faced numerous challenges, including dealing with injuries and taking an indefinite break from tennis due to burnout and concerns over her mental health in May 2023. One of her most significant setbacks was the passing of her father and coach, who suffered a heart attack months after her 2019 French Open success.

In stark contrast, Iga Swiatek's 2025 Wimbledon win was a triumphant moment in her career. The Polish player, whose career prize money now stands at a staggering $40.5 million, clinched her first Slam title of the year and her sixth overall. Swiatek, who previously ranked as the world No. 1, had a total earnings of $21.4 million in 2024, making her third in Sportico's highest-paid female athletes.

Swiatek's Wimbledon win came in a dominant fashion, with a straight sets victory (6-0, 6-0) in the final. The 21-year-old has been supported by a host of sponsors, including ON (apparel and footwear), Tecnifibre (racquets), Rolex, Oshee (sports drink), Visa, Lancome, and Porsche (as a brand ambassador from 2023) among others.

Despite the disappointment of not qualifying for Wimbledon, Anisimova remains optimistic about her future in tennis. She expressed her belief in returning to Wimbledon one day and stated that she knows she didn't have enough in the Wimbledon final, but she will continue to put in the work.

In a reflection of her career, Anisimova described it as "a bit of a roller coaster." However, with her unwavering spirit and determination, it's clear that her tennis journey is far from over.

Meanwhile, Swiatek's success at Wimbledon has solidified her position as one of the world's top tennis players. As she continues to dominate the courts, tennis fans eagerly anticipate her next move.
