Terrorist Attack at Crocus City Hall: Investigation Update
On March 22, 2024, a devastating terrorist attack occurred at Moscow's Crocus City Hall, just before a concert by the group "Piknik". The attack, orchestrated by a group connected to the terrorist organization "Wilayat Khurasan", a structural division of the banned terrorist organization "Islamic State" (ISIL/IS), left 149 people dead and over 500 injured.
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the perpetrators manufactured a homemade explosive device for the attack on the "Moscow" entertainment complex. Umedjon Soliev, Shahromjon Gadoev, and Zubaidullo Ismoilov, all listed as terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring, were found to be involved in the preparation of this heinous act.
These three individuals, along with several accomplices, were also found to have transported firearms from Dagestan to Moscow for the executors of the terrorist act. However, the public does not have verified information about who transported these weapons or to whom they were handed over.
In January 2025, 27 suspects were accused in the "Crocus" case. The investigation of the criminal case was completed by the Russian Investigative Committee in February 2025. Four executors of the attack were arrested in the Bryansk region after attempting to flee to Ukraine.
Preliminary hearings for the "Crocus" case began in July 2025. The Russian authorities have been working tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such attacks from happening again.
It's important to remember that terrorism affects us all, and it's crucial that we stand united against such acts of violence. Our thoughts remain with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
