Tesla boosts discounts on Model Y legacy stock by over $11,000 in Canada and up to $7,000 in the United States.
In a move to clear out older inventory before the introduction of the new Model Y with standard upgraded features, Tesla is offering substantial discounts on the pre-series Model Y in the USA and Canada.
The discounts apply to the previous generation Model Y vehicles that remain in stock following the launch of Tesla's latest design refresh. In the USA, the discounts on the legacy Model Y units have also increased significantly, although the exact amounts are not specified.
Meanwhile, in Canada, the discounts are more than double the previous discounts of around $4,000 in mid-January. The Long Range All-Wheel Drive Model Y in Canada is offering a discount of up to $11,380, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model Y is receiving a discount of over $7,000. The Performance Model Y in Canada is seeing a discount of up to $11,590.
The discounts on the inventory Model Y Performance in the USA are up to $7,000. When combined with the $7,500 U.S. federal EV tax credit, a previous-generation Model Y Performance can be purchased for as low as $37,000 before gas savings in the U.S.
Tesla is not forgetting about its loyal customers. A referral link is available that offers an additional $1,300 off a Model Y purchase. Furthermore, buying a Tesla comes with the added benefit of three months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) when using the link.
The new Model Y, featuring updates such as a revised interior, ambient lighting, improved materials, and enhanced soundproofing, has already appeared on the Design Studios in China and Europe. As of this past weekend, the new Model Y has already started being delivered in the U.S. Canadian deliveries, however, have not been scheduled yet but should hopefully start in the second half of March.
These discounts bring prices close to or less than what they were before the up to $9,000 price increases on February 1. With these attractive offers, it's an opportune moment for Tesla enthusiasts to consider upgrading to the Model Y.
