Tesla Begins Deliveries of Model Y in British Columbia, Canada

Tesla has kicked off deliveries of its highly anticipated Model Y electric SUV in British Columbia, Canada. The first deliveries are expected to take place within the next week or two, according to recent reports.

The vehicles have arrived at the Dartmouth Autoport in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with several hundred vehicles making the journey from Germany. This marks the beginning of Tesla's foray into the Canadian market, with Eastern Canada being the first region to receive the Model Y due to its proximity to Nova Scotia.

On March 8, 2025, Tesla held "handoff" events at various locations in the U.S. and Europe to celebrate the deliveries with customers and employees. However, no such events have been announced for Canada as of yet.

Tesla's deliveries of the Model Y have already begun in the U.S. and Europe, with the SUV being delivered at Tesla's Fremont Factory in California, Gigafactory Texas in Austin, and Gigafactory Berlin in Germany. The deliveries in Europe started on March 7, 2025, with Gigafactory Berlin being the starting point.

Currently, deliveries of the Model Y in Canada are limited to British Columbia. Customers in this region have started receiving their VINs, indicating the start of deliveries. However, no information has been provided about when deliveries will begin in other regions of Canada.

At the Fremont event in the U.S., Tesla's head designer, Franz von Holzhausen, and chief engineer, Lars Moravy, were present to greet new owners. No information is available about their presence at the delivery events in Canada.

While the deliveries of the Model Y in Canada are a significant milestone, no new information about Tesla's upcoming products, such as the Cybercab, has been provided in this context.

The new Model Y has been warmly received in the U.S. and Europe, and it is expected that the Canadian market will follow suit. As more information becomes available about the deliveries in other regions of Canada, we will keep you updated.
