Join us on Wednesday, December 2nd, for an enlightening information event titled "Grandparent Scam and More - How Criminals Deceive Seniors". This event, scheduled to start at 6:30 PM and end at 9 PM, will take place at the restaurant located at Kronprinzenstraße 113.

The guest speaker for the evening is Dr. Martina Müller, and Birgit Schwertfechter, a specialist in senior prevention at the Düsseldorf Police Presidency, will also be presenting.

The focus of the event is to educate attendees about the tricks of scammers and provide useful tips on how to protect oneself from such fraudulent activities. The scams often begin with a message or call from individuals posing as grandchildren or other close relatives. Victims are often pressured by these impostors who claim to be in distress and require immediate financial assistance.

Scammers use shocking stories and apply pressure to obtain money or valuable items from elderly people. They may even pose as prosecutors, police officers, or similar authorities who emphasize the urgency of the situation.

Birgit Schwertfechter will share her expertise and provide advice on various methods used by scammers. She will help attendees recognise the signs of a scam and learn how to respond appropriately.

This event is not limited to a specific group or demographic. All interested parties and friends of grenzenlos are invited to attend. No registration is required for the event, so mark your calendars and join us for an informative evening.

The event is organised by SPD 60plus of the Düsseldorf district, and the event's aim is to provide a platform for learning and sharing information about scam prevention. We look forward to seeing you there!
