The city of Osterath is set to welcome a new modern residential quarter, named "Kalverdonk". Spanning approximately 37 hectares, this development aims to embody a sustainable concept, offering a diverse range of housing forms.

The first construction phase of this ambitious project will consist of five sub-quarters, with the "Nikolaus Quarter" being one of them. Located between the Nikolaus Primary School and the K-Bahn track, the Nikolaus Quarter will contribute significantly to the development.

In the initial phase, around 250 apartments will be built on approximately 9.2 hectares, primarily in the form of multi-family houses. This phase also includes the redesign of the SchΓΌtzenplatz, the construction of a new kindergarten, and a garage for parked vehicles.

The architectural firm responsible for this landmark project is Wiersema Architecten. The council of the platform adopted the initiation resolution for the building plan for the first construction phase before the summer break, paving the way for this development.

Interested citizens are invited to an information event scheduled for Monday, September 8, from 6 pm to 8 pm, at the Erwin-Heerich House in Osterath. No registration is required to attend this event, making it accessible to all.

In addition to the first construction phase, at least 30% of the new apartments will be built as publicly subsidized housing. The land use plan is being adjusted in parallel to accommodate this development.
