A traffic accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on state road 102 between Pansdorf and Luschendorf, involving a motorcycle and a car.
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old local, was riding a Suzuki. The car involved was a VW, driven by a 52-year-old local. The accident occurred around 5:00 PM on the OstseestraĂe from Pansdorf towards Luschendorf.
According to the Police Directorate LĂźbeck, the motorcyclist was driving in a zigzag manner and lost control, ending up in the opposite lane. As a result, the motorcyclist collided with the rear tire of the VW, sustaining severe injuries. The driver and passenger of the VW remained uninjured.
Both vehicles had to be towed away due to the extent of the damage. The Suzuki was severely damaged and is considered a total loss. The car sustained damage estimated at approximately 5,000 EUR.
The investigation, initiated by the Police Directorate LĂźbeck, is based on suspicion of endangering traffic by not adhering to the right-of-way rule at unclear locations. The police have initiated an investigation against the motorcyclist.
The driver of the VW attempted an evasive maneuver to avoid a head-on collision. The name of the 24-year-old motorcyclist involved in the accident is not publicly disclosed.
