The Disappearance of MH370, Malaysia Airlines' Vanished Flight
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared on 8 March 2014, continues to baffle investigators and the public alike. Despite numerous theories and speculations, the truth behind its disappearance remains elusive.
One intriguing theory suggests a connection between MH370 and another tragic event β the shooting down of a commercial Boeing 777, flight MH17, by Russian-backed forces in July 2014. However, few connections exist between the two tragedies to support a cohesive conspiracy theory.
The pattern of MH370's flight path does not conform to the typical model of previous terrorist attacks. Instead, a 2017 statement from the Malaysian government suggested that the deviation from the planned flight path was likely caused by manual inputs. This theory is further supported by the fact that one of the pilots was known to have made a "rogue" flight pattern on his home flight simulator.
The aircraft and its "black box" have never been recovered, making theories of potential tampering with systems or cabin depressurization speculative. However, debris from MH370 was found along the East African coast between July 2015 and an unspecified date, providing some physical evidence to the mystery. Approximately 20 pieces of debris are believed to have come from MH370.
Two unusual pieces of the MH370 mystery remain: a flight simulator and stolen passports. Among the passengers of MH370 were two young men who boarded using stolen Italian and Australian passports. Despite extensive investigations, no signs of suspicious behavior were exhibited by any crew members before the flight, and no terrorist organizations have claimed responsibility for an attack involving MH370.
As the years pass, the mystery of MH370 deepens, with more questions than answers. The search for the truth continues, and the world waits with bated breath for the day when the disappearance of MH370 will finally be solved.
