The First Instance Court decided that the Commission neglected its responsibilities as specified in Article 85 (1) of the Treaty.

A traffic accident occurred on Tuesday morning at around 9:00 on the federal highway 1 near the Holy Haven Mitte junction towards Fehmarn.

According to the Police Directorate Lübeck, the accident involved a gray Mercedes, which was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The 42-year-old driver from Ostholstein, who was behind the wheel, and a 4-year-old child, who was also in the car, were taken to a hospital for a medical examination as a precaution.

The police believe the driver left the road due to a driving error. As a result, the accident caused damage to the guardrail and the guardrail chain. No further details about the condition of the driver or child have been released.

The press spokesperson for the Police Directorate Lübeck is Anna Julia Meyer. For further questions, you can contact the press office at [email protected], by telephone at 0451-131-2015, or by fax at 0451-131-2019.
