The individuals in question are not genuine members of the Global Sumud flotilla party based in Ibiza; it is a fabrication.

In recent days, misleading messages have circulated on social media platforms, suggesting that members of the Global Sumud Flotilla were partying in the popular Spanish island of Ibiza. However, fact-checking reveals that these claims are false.

The Global Sumud Flotilla, an international initiative aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, held its farewell event at Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona, Spain. The exact coordinates of this location are 41.3791656, 2.1819444.

The video in question, which has been shared thousands of times, was not taken in Ibiza but in Barcelona during the flotilla's farewell event. Originally posted on TikTok by an account called Familia Abdelkader, the video does not depict any party or celebration but rather the emotional send-off of the flotilla.

It's important to note that the flotilla initially had to return to Barcelona due to bad weather but set off again a day later, with its destination being the Gaza Strip. The flotilla consisted of boats from up to 44 countries, each with the shared objective of opening a humanitarian corridor to the Gaza Strip and challenging the naval blockade imposed by Israel.

An advanced search did not reveal any communications from the group or information referring to Ibiza as a destination for the fleet. No records of any boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla having sailed to Ibiza were found.

The video shared on social media, claiming that the women in the video are activists from the Global Sumud flotilla partying in Ibiza, is therefore false. The flotilla's mission is one of solidarity and humanitarian aid, not partying in popular tourist destinations.

It's crucial to verify information before sharing it, especially when it comes to sensitive topics such as this. The Global Sumud Flotilla's journey continues, and we wish them a safe and successful voyage to the Gaza Strip. They are due to depart from Barcelona on August 31.
