Thief makes off with vehicle from home's entrance
In the early hours of September 1st, a theft occurred that has left authorities baffled. A 59-year-old resident of a single-family home on Eichenweg reported the incident to the police around 06:45 AM, after discovering that his valuable BMW M2 Competition was missing.
The stolen vehicle, a white BMW with license plate number SU-YF 87, is estimated to be worth around 50,000 euros. The car, which boasts distinctive wheels with half-slick sports tires, also known as "semi-slicks," was taken from in front of the residence in Niederkassel.
The exact time of the crime is now believed to be around 03:15 AM. The owner of the stolen vehicle still has both keys to the vehicle. However, the police believe that the theft may have been facilitated by intercepting the radio signal of the Keyless-Go system.
To protect against such incidents, the police advise storing keys away from windows and doors, and ideally in shielded containers. For further inquiries, the Rhein-Sieg Circle Police Headquarters Press Office can be reached at 02241/541-2222 or via email at [email protected].
