Thieves make off with a 500-kilogram safe in Mühlheim
In an unexpected turn of events, the Offenbach police have apprehended a suspect involved in a burglary that took place on Sunday evening. The 48-year-old individual was caught in the woodland stretch between Mühlheim and Lammerspiel.
According to the police, the suspect and an accomplice were attempting to open a safe that had been stolen from a bakery on Dieselstraße in Mühlheim. The noise they made while trying to open the safe alerted a witness, who promptly contacted the authorities, leading to a quick response from a patrol car.
The arrested man was taken to the police station for processing, and after completing police procedures, he was consulted with the public prosecutor's office. However, the suspect's accomplice managed to escape and remains at large.
