Obituary: Thomas W. Shultz, Known as "Mr. Magic", Passes Away at 88
Thomas W. Shultz, affectionately known as "Mr. Magic", passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on June 27, 1937, in Lancaster, he spent his life making a lasting impact on his community.
After graduating from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1956, Thomas joined the United States Army and served until 1958. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career as a service technician and manager for Monroe & Quality Copy, a position he held for over 32 years until his retirement.
In his leisure time, Thomas enjoyed pursuits as diverse as his career. He was an avid fisherman, a skilled hunter, and a passionate magician. As a member of the Professional Magicians Club of Lancaster, he was known as "Mr. Magic", a title that reflected his mastery of the art.
Thomas was married to Florence (Hoenninger) Shultz for over 63 years until her passing in 2020. They shared a loving bond that spanned decades and touched the lives of many. Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas Shultz, husband of Karen, his grandson Derrick Shultz, husband of Kate, and great-grandsons Lincoln and Hudson.
Thomas was preceded in passing by his wife, their sons, James M. Shultz and Steven C. Shultz, and siblings, Dolores Geiger and John C. "Jack" Shultz.
A Memorial Service for Thomas W. Shultz will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, beginning at 11 AM. The family will greet guests from 10 AM until the service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
