In a significant move for the Kenyan music industry, TikTok has launched its platform for artists, TikTok for Artists, marking the beginning of a global rollout that commenced in June. This new initiative aims to put powerful, transparent data into the hands of creators, enabling them to make smarter decisions and connect with the global TikTok community.

Toyin Mustapha, Head of Music Partnerships for the UK, Ireland, and Sub-Saharan Africa at TikTok, emphasized that TikTok for Artists is designed to empower artists globally. Artists with a certified TikTok Artist Account in Kenya can now access this platform, gaining access to comprehensive tools and data.

The platform offers insights that can help artists engage their fans more effectively and grow their careers globally. It provides detailed analytics, daily-updated dashboards, and metrics on the number of views, posts, and creator engagements per track. Demographic breakdowns by gender, age, and language are also included, offering artists a deeper understanding of their audience.

TikTok for Artists offers step-by-step guides on utilizing its tools and features, making it easier for artists to navigate the platform and make the most of its offerings. It also introduces the Pre-Release Tool for creating campaigns for upcoming albums and allowing fans to pre-save directly.

However, it's worth noting that not all artists in Kenya have access to TikTok for Artists. Specific Kenyan artists who already have certified TikTok Artist Accounts on the platform have not been publicly listed or detailed in the available search results as of mid-2025.

The launch of TikTok for Artists in Kenya is part of a broader initiative by TikTok to support and resource artists for building a long-term music career. Artists can grant access to their managers and label teams through TikTok for Artists, facilitating collaboration and strategic decision-making.

While TikTok for Artists is currently only available in Kenya, it represents a promising development for the Kenyan music industry and the artists within it. As the platform continues to roll out globally, it is expected to have a significant impact on the music industry, empowering artists and connecting them with fans across the world.
