Timeless Vista Captured Through a Lensviewfinder: A Classic Scene Unfolds

In early August, the picturesque town of New Holland played host to the annual Big Spring Farm Days event, where tradition and innovation came together in a celebration of agricultural heritage. At the heart of this festivity was the Swiss Pioneers Preservation Association, an organisation dedicated to exploring the traditional way of life and preserving the religious values and character of the Swiss pioneers.

The event was a veritable parade of farm tractors and steam engine tractors, a spectacle that drew a group of men to an old barn, where they watched the procession pass by. One of these men, a skilled photographer, chose to capture a specific moment during the event, immortalising the scene in a black and white image.

The photograph, part of the "Through the Viewfinder" feature, was taken using a Nikon D5 camera with a 70-200 mm lens. The photographer meticulously set the ISO to 400, the aperture to f-6.3, and the shutter speed to 1/800 sec, ensuring a balance between sharpness and light sensitivity.

After capturing the image, the photographer took the photo back to their studio and, using Adobe Photoshop, converted it to black and white, enhancing the timeless quality of the scene. The final result is a powerful image that encapsulates the essence of the Big Spring Farm Days event.
