Titan of MMA's Hefty Division is Now Its Freshly Crowned Champion.
In a highly anticipated final tournament of the HFC MMA league, the light heavyweight division bout between Said "Borz" Abdulgaziev and Rafael Aliyev for the undisputed championship title did not disappoint.
The first round saw Aliyev dominating, maintaining an aggressive stance and pressuring Abdulgaziev against the cage. Despite a brief counterattack from Abdulgaziev, who managed to take Aliyev's back, it was Aliyev who kept the upper hand.
In the second round, Aliyev intensified his assault. Abdulgaziev seemed to run out of steam, unable to mount a significant resistance. Aliyev came close to securing a rear-naked choke on Abdulgaziev, but the latter barely escaped. Abdulgaziev lost any offensive initiative in this round, and Aliyev overwhelmed him on the ground.
As a result, Rafael Aliyev emerged victorious, retaining the 93 kg category title. The next event for the 93 kg title is yet to be announced, but it will feature a match between the current champion and the top contender.
Meanwhile, in another matchup, Islam Karimov clashed with Denis Kazakov, resulting in a first-round knockout for one of the athletes. The exact details of the knockout are not yet known.
With Aliyev's trophy being eyed by the next contenders in the 93 kg category, the anticipation for the next event is high. Fans are eagerly waiting to see who will challenge Aliyev for the title and whether we will witness another thrilling showdown.
