Tobias Terhardt, once the head of HMK, is moving on to direct the military band of Bundeswehr. Ticket sales for this year's concert kick off on 24th September 2025.
In the heart of the North Hesse region, our city continues to thrive with cultural events and community initiatives.
The legendary Christmas concerts, a cherished tradition since 1992, will once again light up the city hall on the third Sunday of Advent. The 48th edition is scheduled for December 14, 2025, at 5 pm. Tickets will be available starting September 24, 2025, at the City Shop in the cinema building on Friedrich-Ebert-Allee, as well as at all other advance sale points.
Over the years, these concerts have raised over several hundred thousand euros for charitable organisations such as Kuratorium Action for Disabled People Region Kassel e.V. (AfbM) and our city Diakonie Kassel (bdks). Half of the net proceeds from these benefit concerts are donated to these worthy causes each year.
As we look forward to the upcoming Christmas concert, we bid farewell to Lieutenant Colonel Tobias Terhardt, who has stepped down as Head of the Army Music Corps Kassel (HMK) after nearly a decade of dedicated service. His tenure was marked by numerous concerts in the region for a good cause. His final performance in our city was unforgettable, featuring a solo performance in a white "Udo Juergens bathrobe".
Tobias Terhardt is moving on to take over the Bundeswehr Big Band in Euskirchen. Captain Christoph Schiffers has taken over as the new Head of the Army Music Corps Kassel (HMK).
