Togo initiates cybersecurity training for 250 professionals, aiming to bolster the nation's digital resilience.
The National Cybersecurity Agency (ANCy) in Togo has launched a comprehensive cybersecurity training program aimed at equipping 250 Togolese professionals with the skills to combat digital threats. The initiative, announced on August 28, 2025, in LomeΜ, is part of the Togolese Government's efforts to address growing cybersecurity concerns.
The program, funded by Germany, Luxembourg, and the European Union through the ProDigiT project of GIZ Togo, is being implemented in partnership with the Togo Digital Agency (ATD) and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation. The beneficiaries of the training are exclusively Togolese nationals residing in Togo and coming from the public and private sectors.
To participate in the program, individuals must hold a Bac+3 in computer science and have experience in support, cybersecurity, or network and systems administration. The participants were selected through a rigorous and inclusive process that resulted in the selection of the best after competitive testing.
The training program offers three internationally recognized certifications: ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, ISO 27035 Lead Incident Manager, and CompTiA Security+. The ISO 27001 Lead Implementer certification prepares professionals for the functions of Information Systems Security Officer (CISO) and mastering the design and management of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard. ISO 27035 Lead Incident Manager certification specializes in security incident management and driving incident response within organizations according to the ISO 27035 standard. CompTiA Security+ certification is a basic certification in network security, threat management, and system protection, paving the way for specialties as a security analyst, system administrator, cybersecurity consultant, or risk management specialist.
The ProDigiT project of GIZ Togo is providing support for the certification program, with the goal of strengthening digital security in the public and private sectors. However, the organization that provided additional support for the training of 250 Togolese professionals is currently not mentioned in the available sources.
The training program is aimed at professionals from both the public and private sectors in Togo. Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to contribute to the protection and security of the information systems of the Togolese State and companies. The program is expected to graduate 200 professionals with certifications, marking a significant step towards improving the digital resilience of Togo.
