Tool thieves met with harsh consequences as they were chased off by skilled artisans

In a series of tool thefts that occurred on Monday, multiple vehicles and a toolbox were targeted in Bielefeld. The incidents took place at various locations, including Lutterkordweg, Wachterstraße, and Straße Am Brodhagen.

The first theft occurred on Lutterkordweg, where an unknown perpetrator stole a cordless screwdriver, a cordless angle grinder, and a cordless drill of the Hilti brand from a Mercedes Sprinter between 08:45 AM and 09:15 AM.

Later in the morning, between 09:00 AM and 12:30 PM, a thief made off with a drill, a hammer, a cable reel, a saw, and several angle grinders from a Ford Transit on Wachterstraße.

The suspect in these thefts was described as a person with southern appearance, approximately 25 to 30 years old, and wearing a white and blue striped long-sleeved shirt and brown shorts.

On Straße Am Brodhagen, a carpenter on a construction site spotted the suspect while the person was working on the roof of a building. The thief fled, leaving behind a toolbox containing high-quality equipment.

The recovered toolbox contained a cordless drill of the Hilti brand, which matches the description of the tools stolen from the vehicles. The perpetrator was later apprehended and the stolen tools were recovered.
