In a tragic incident, a 53-year-old Filipino tourist passed out while riding Hong Kong Disneyland's Frozen Ever After attraction on August 29, at approximately 10 a.m. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed the death, issuing a statement on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The incident was initially investigated by Hong Kong Disneyland management, who found no relation to ride safety. The tourist was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead around 11:30 a.m. the same day. Unfortunately, no further details about the cause of death were provided in the statement.

The Consulate General of the Philippines is coordinating with the Lantau Police Headquarters and local authorities and institutions concerned. They are also respecting the family's privacy during this difficult time. The DFA has contacted the next of kin to convey condolences and assist with repatriation.

In response to the incident, Hong Kong Disneyland temporarily suspended the operation of the Frozen Ever After ride from August 31 to September 19 for the imposition of operational adjustments.
