Tourists from France are swarming to the island of Sark in large numbers

The charming island of Sark is experiencing a surge in visitors this summer, with an increase in French tourists sailing into St Peter Port and exploring the picturesque town. This influx of tourists has been a welcome boost for local businesses, keeping them open and thriving.

Behind the scenes, the recently appointed Tourism Officer for Sark, George Timpson, is using his media marketing skills to attract even more visitors to the island. George, a 25-year-old digital content creator, recently joined the Visitor Centre and has been working tirelessly to boost Sark's presence on TikTok.

George's strategy is to target a younger audience, hoping to entice them with the island's unique charm and natural beauty. With his university degree in hand, George moved permanently to Sark to live with his grandmother and immerse himself in the island's culture.

The team of residents on Sark is working together to promote the island on TikTok, sharing videos of the stunning sunsets, the great weather, and the many attractions that make Sark a special place to visit during the late summer and early fall. George's efforts are paying off, as he expects visitors to continue coming to Sark until the end of October, provided the good weather holds.

Brittany Ferries and Guernsey Ports have also reported increased numbers of passengers arriving into Guernsey through St Peter Port Harbour, suggesting that George's efforts are having a positive impact on tourism in the region.

Businesses in Sark have appreciated the extra footfall, with many reporting increased sales and profits. If Sark remains busy, businesses tend to stay open, ensuring that visitors have ample opportunities to explore the island and enjoy its many offerings.

With the summer season going well according to George, anyone visiting Sark this year still has plenty of time as most businesses will not wind up for winter before the end of October. So, if you're looking for a unique and beautiful destination to visit this summer, consider Sark and its many charms.
