In the opening day of the Buchi Babu Tournament 2025, several teams showcased impressive performances. Here's a round-up of the day's action.

Mumbai's Aakash Parkar shone with an unbeaten 67, while Baroda's Nitya Pandya scored a century (102) as they ended the day with a formidable total of 381-6. Abhimanyusingh Rajput (50) and Parth Kohli (48) also contributed to Baroda's strong showing.

Meanwhile, TNCA Presidents XI put up a valiant fight, with Ajitesh G scoring a well-compiled 71* and Pradosh Paul leading the charge with a 125-ball 73. However, they ended the day on 256-9.

In another closely contested match, Haryana, despite the absence of their captain Sai Kishore, posted a competitive 415-9, with Yashvardhan Dalal scoring a brilliant 120 and Himanshu Rana notching up a hundred. Ajay Singh contributed a quickfire 53 off 28 balls, while Nishant Sindhu scored 74.

Jammu and Kashmir's opener Qamran Iqbal scored a patient 138 off 249 balls, helping his team reach 393-5 at the close of play. Prabhsimran Singh scored 69 for Punjab, who ended the day on a solid 60-0, trailing Jharkhand by 116 runs.

Madhya Pradesh had a challenging day, being bowled out for 252, with Sanjeet Desai top-scoring with 93. Rohit Rajawat took 5 wickets for Madhya Pradesh, while Anvesh Chawla and Akshay Sharma also claimed wickets. Jharkhand, in response, ended the day on 60-0, with Kumar Kushagra top-scoring with 56.

Uday Pratap Saharan was unbeaten on 63 for Punjab, setting the stage for an interesting Day 2. The tournament, which began on August 18, promises to deliver more exciting cricket in the coming days.
