Traffic on A1 has resumed after a fire-induced blockage involving a truck was resolved.

On August 28, 2025, a significant incident occurred on the A1 highway in the Bergisches Land, as a burning truck carrying cars caused a closure between Burscheid and Wermelskirchen. The closure took place around 5:40 PM and lasted until 7 AM on August 29, 2025.

The A1 near Burscheid reopened at 7 AM on August 29, 2025, however, the traffic jam from the incident was still present on the detour route B51 this morning.
