Tragedy Strikes in Swords: Three Victims as Accident Occurs; Child Successfully Rescues From Flames
On Sunday afternoon, a tragic accident involving a Tesla occurred on Rote-Haus-Straße in the Unna district of Schwerte, Germany.
According to the Unna Police Department, the driver of the electric vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Iserlohn, lost control while overtaking, resulting in a collision with a tree. The vehicle immediately caught fire, and the flames were difficult to extinguish.
Three people, including the driver and two nine-year-old children, tragically lost their lives in the fire. A neighbor, who heard screams from the burning car, attempted to put out the fire, but was unable to overcome the flames.
Two other nine-year-old children were present at the scene. One managed to escape from the burning car and was not reported to have sustained any injuries. The fourth child was taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter.
The accident caused a significant disruption, with Rote-Haus-Straße remaining closed until the evening. Rescue workers and officers at the scene received psychological support.
The fire department remained on the scene until 11 PM on Sunday, and the burned-out car was later lifted into a special container using a crane.
In total, three vehicles were involved in the accident. This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and careful driving, especially when overtaking.
