In a heartbreaking incident, a boat accident on the Malale River in the Borgu district of Nigeria's Niger state has claimed at least 29 lives. The accident occurred near the community of Gausawa in this district.

According to the Red Cross representative, the incident took place on Tuesday. The state emergency agency has confirmed the accident and reported that 50 people have been rescued.

Sadly, two individuals are still missing, and no new information about them has been provided. The state emergency agency also stated that the accident was caused by overloading and a collision with a tree stump.
