Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Two Lacrosse Players from Marquette University Near Campus Premises

In a heartbreaking turn of events, two members of the Marquette men's lacrosse team, Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder, were tragically killed in a car accident near the school's campus in downtown Milwaukee. The incident occurred on Friday evening, involving a 41-year-old driver colliding with another vehicle containing six occupants, all of whom were part of the Marquette lacrosse team.

Scott Michaud, a 19-year-old sophomore goalie and biomedical sciences major from Springboro, Ohio, and Noah Snyder, a 20-year-old sophomore attackman and College of Business Administration student from Irving, New York, were both named to the Big East's all-academic team last year for maintaining grade-point averages of at least 3.0.

Noah Snyder played in 13 games for Marquette last season, making three starts in the midfield and collecting nine goals and seven assists. Scott Michaud's contributions to the team were not limited to his role as a goalie, as he was also a valuable teammate and leader.

The car wreck occurred at about 5 p.m. on Friday. The 41-year-old driver involved in the accident has not been publicly named. The identity of the driver was not disclosed in the police report, and criminal charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County district attorney's office.

The driver was taken into custody following the accident. The four other occupants of the vehicle were treated for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

University President Kimo Ah Yun issued a statement on social media expressing condolences for the loss of Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder. A Mass was held in honor of the two young men on Saturday.
