Trailer-mounted minibus heading towards Wandersleben on Highway 4!
In an unfortunate incident on Wednesday night, a collision between a Ford Transit minibus and a German articulated lorry resulted in significant damage and multiple injuries on the A4 motorway towards Dresden.
At around 23:55, a 22-year-old Polish driver was traveling on the A4 motorway. The minibus veered off to the left, collided with the central reservation barrier, and stopped on the left lane.
The collision left a 27-year-old Polish passenger trapped under the articulated lorry. The Thuringian Fire Service swiftly responded, using heavy equipment to rescue the passenger. Sadly, the passenger was airlifted to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver and the other passenger in the minibus also sustained injuries, although to a lesser extent. Tragically, two other 22-year-old Polish passengers were injured, one seriously and one lightly.
The Dresden-bound carriageway was closed for 2.5 hours due to the rescue, recovery, and cleaning operations. The total preliminary damage is estimated at €46,000.
