Train Accident in Central City
On the morning of March 10, 2025, a significant accident occurred on Neckartalstraße towards Muhlhausen near Reinhold-Maier-Bruecke. The incident involved a Sprinter bus and the Stadtbahn of line U14.
According to reports, a 62-year-old driver, behind the wheel of the Sprinter, allegedly ignored a red light and collided with the Stadtbahn. The accident took place around 08:55 AM.
Emergency services were promptly called to the scene. The 62-year-old driver, who sustained only minor injuries, was transported to a hospital for treatment. The Stadtbahn, fortunately, did not have any passengers on board at the time of the accident.
The total damage from the accident is estimated to be approximately 60,000 euros. The Sprinter, rendered no longer roadworthy, had to be towed away from the scene. Traffic disruptions occurred during the accident investigation.
