Train Accident Resulting in a Toll of Six Figures Occurs in Expansive Fields
On the night of August 29, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred in Breitenfelde, District of Herzogtum Lauenburg. The incident involved a truck traveling on the B207, coming from MΓΆlln, which lost control and veered off the road in a left curve, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the truck, a 47-year-old man from the Stormarn district, was slightly injured in the accident. His vehicle combination came to a stop in the front yard of an apartment building, causing extensive property damage.
The accident resulted in damage to various structures, including a bridge railing, a street lamp, and three parked cars, each of which were totaled in the incident. Damage also occurred in the garden, on the house facade, and to the apartment building itself.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man may not have sufficiently checked the vehicle for a proper technical condition before starting the journey. This could potentially indicate a neglect of duty of care. The police estimate the total property damage at a low six-figure amount.
In response to the accident, the officers initiated a procedure against the offender for an administrative offense. The open suspicion raised against the 47-year-old Romanian man from the district of Stormarn is that he may not have properly checked the vehicle's technical condition before driving.
