Kazakhstan's Passenger Transportation Company Sees Growth and Expansion

The Passenger Transportation company in Kazakhstan, as reported by the National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", has experienced significant growth and expansion in the first seven months of 2025.

Since the beginning of the year, the online service "Waiting List" has been used by an impressive 281,000 clients, with over 105,000 of them successfully purchasing tickets. This digital service has played a crucial role in facilitating the company's operations.

The company served over 7.8 million people from January to July 2025, a testament to its growing popularity among the Kazakhstan public. To cater to this increasing demand, the company has plans to expand its fleet. It is projected that another 557 Stadler Kazakhstan wagons will be added to the current fleet of 2,204 wagons by 2030.

Of the existing fleet, 656 wagons are "TะฐะปัŒgo" wagons, and 94 are electric trains. This year, the company will receive 51 more Stadler wagons, further bolstering its capacity. Additionally, 63 domestic ZIKSTO wagons will be added to the fleet this year.

The most popular routes for the company remain Astana - Almaty, Astana - Shymkent, Almaty - Shymkent, Astana - Semey, and Almaty - Semey. However, during the summer season of 2025, 13 additional routes were launched, connecting cities such as Dostyk, Shar, Aktau, Kyzylorda, and Pavlodar to the company's network.

Besides strengthening popular routes, the company plans to expand into regions including Usharal, Urdar, Kokshetau, and Turkestan in 2025. Lake Alakol has also been added as a destination, further broadening the company's reach.

Over the past 10 years, the fleet has been renewed by 50%, a clear indication of the company's commitment to modernising its operations. The popular routes Astana - Almaty, Astana - Shymkent, and Aktobe - Astana have been reinforced to handle the increased traffic.
