Train officer aids train conductor, sustains injury in the process
A 34-year-old man caused a disturbance on a regional train from Mรผnster to Coesfeld early on Saturday, 1st February. According to reports from Police Coesfeld, transmitted via news aktuell, the incident occurred at Billerbeck station.
The man, who was not in possession of a valid ticket, was initially approached by a train conductor. However, as the conversation escalated, the man became increasingly aggressive and tried to escape from the train at Billerbeck station.
Witnesses on board the train intervened, preventing the suspect from further attacks. Despite their efforts, the suspect punched the officer repeatedly in the head, injuring him. The injured officer was treated by emergency services at the scene.
A police officer from PP Mรผnster, who was travelling on the train in his free time, assisted the train conductor. The suspect was held until a patrol car arrived and was subsequently taken into police custody.
