On September 2, 2025, at around 15:50, the Federal Police Inspectorate Hamburg received a report of a threat with a box cutter on the RB 71 train between Pinneberg and Altona stations.

The incident unfolded between the stations, with the suspect allegedly threatening a 54-year-old male passenger with a box cutter, the blade extended. According to witnesses, the suspect was speaking loudly on his phone during the train ride.

Upon arrival at Altona station, Federal Police officers were able to apprehend the suspect. Despite repeated requests, the suspect initially ignored requests to speak more quietly. During the search of the suspect's clothing, a box cutter was found and secured.

The injured passenger was provided with immediate medical attention. The suspect, a 29-year-old male, did not comment on the charges of 'threat with a knife' and insult.

Seven radio patrol car crews from the Federal and State Police Hamburg responded to the incident, some equipped robustly. The operations center of the Federal Police Inspectorate Hamburg was the initial recipient of the threat report.
