The International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) in Berlin is open to private visitors until Tuesday and will remain in the city until at least 2034. This year's event, which kicked off on September 1st, is a hub for the latest developments in AI technology in the household sector.

One of the key highlights is the integration of AI in household robots. These robots are equipped with decision-making capabilities, enabling them to adapt to their environment. For instance, the latest models in vacuum cleaning robots are programmed to avoid shoelaces on the living room carpet and hedgehogs while mowing the lawn.

In the kitchen, AI is revolutionizing appliances. Refrigerators are now able to recognize their contents, while ovens, stove tops, and grills can alert users when food is ready. Some stove tops even turn off automatically when water boils.

Miele, Siemens, and Bosch have introduced so-called steam cooking drawers at the IFA, offering a new cooking experience. Additionally, Miele showcased smart pots and pans equipped with sensors, providing users with real-time cooking data.

Security is another area where AI is making a significant impact. Manufacturers are presenting intelligent alarm systems, door locks, and camera systems at the fair.

Berlin's governing mayor, Kai Wegner, his economics senator, Franziska Giffey, and the coordinator of the federal government for maritime economy and tourism, Christoph Ploß, were demonstrated coffee machines, smartphones, and refrigerators at the IFA tech fair.

Samsung announced at the IFA that its new Galaxy S25 FE will be supported with up-to-date software for seven years.

The IFA is also focusing on young people, with a large gaming area, e-scooter and bike test area, and a platform for the gaming scene. There are 1,900 exhibitors at this year's IFA tech fair.

The music program at the IFA features performances by Deine Cousine, Evil Jared and Krogi, Sorvina, Danilo Timm, Anne West, Joy Denalane, Max Herre, Ikkimel, Jan BΓΆhmermann, and Olli Schulz. Artists who performed or were scheduled to perform in the IFA Sommergarten in early September 2025 include Deine Cousine, EVIL JARED x KROGI, Sorvina, Danilo Timm, Anne West, and Ikkimel.

Heating systems at the IFA are demonstrating self-regulation capabilities. The IFA remains open until Tuesday, offering visitors a chance to experience these innovative technologies firsthand. The fair is expected to attract more trade visitors this year than at the previous event.
