Trump Welcomes Polish President Nawrocki, Discusses Military Presence and Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Polish counterpart Karol Nawrocki to the White House on Wednesday, as the two leaders discussed increasing the U.S. military presence in Poland and efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

During their meeting, Trump offered to send more troops to Poland, expressing his support for the Eastern European country. However, no specific number of troops was mentioned. Nawrocki, a nationalist historian and a staunch supporter of Trump, praised the presence of U.S. soldiers in Poland.

The visit was not the first time Trump and Nawrocki had met, and it was accompanied by a military air display. The White House arranged a flyover of F-16 and F-35 planes during Nawrocki's arrival, which commemorated the death of a Polish fighter pilot, Major Maciej "Slab" Krakowian, who died during the preparation for a flight show maneuver.

Trump described the war in Ukraine as a "silly war" and expressed his belief that ending the conflict would have been "much easier" for him. The talks between the two leaders are expected to focus on efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

Nawrocki made his first foreign visit as President of Poland to the U.S., and he expressed his gratitude for Trump's support. He also stated that Warsaw plans to continue increasing its own military spending within the NATO alliance.
