In recent days, speculation has swirled around the health and whereabouts of President Donald Trump, the oldest individual ever to hold the office of the President of the United States.

Last week, the President took a three-day break from public engagements, fueling concerns among some Americans. This absence, coupled with the President's frequent use of makeup to conceal a large, purple bruise on his right hand, led to a wave of conspiracy theories about his health.

On social media platforms, particularly on the platform X (formerly Twitter), these speculations gained momentum. Hashtags like #TrumpDied trended, and rumours circulated that the President was dead or near death. These rumours were further fuelled by a statement from US Vice President J.D. Vance, who mentioned being prepared to take over in case of a "terrible tragedy." However, Vance also affirmed Trump's good health.

Anonymous critics shared dubious reports about the President's absence, garnering thousands of interactions and shares. Influencers on TikTok speculated that the White House was publishing old photos to hide the President's absence.

During the long weekend before last week, these conspiracy theories about President Trump's health reached a fever pitch, surpassing any previous waves of speculation.

When asked to address the rumours of his death on Tuesday, at his first official public appearance in a week, President Trump stated that he was not aware of such rumours suggesting he had died. He also mentioned that he had done media appearances, gone golfing at his Virginia club, and posted prolifically on his social media site during his absence.

However, the President has not disclosed when and why he has sought medical care, adding to the speculation surrounding his health. His critics have long speculated about his health, and recent events have only served to fan the flames of these rumours.

One notable symptom is the President's swollen ankles, a condition that has not been publicly addressed by the White House.

As the President continues his term, these health-related speculations are likely to persist, with many Americans eagerly awaiting clear and transparent information about the President's health and activities.
