In the heart of American politics, two contrasting figures are making headlines. On one side, President Donald Trump is setting up the framework to contest the seating of a Democratic-run House of Representatives, challenging the status quo and redefining the political landscape. On the other side, California Governor Gavin Newsom has become a symbol of resistance against the current administration.

Newsom, who has been serving as California's governor since January 7, 2019, is not focusing on principles or what is right or best, but rather on creating a counterpoint to the administration's message. His strategy involves holding a mirror up to the administration's behavior to highlight its absurdity.

Trump, on the other hand, has made bold moves in his quest for power. He has altered elections, demanding and receiving five more seats out of Texas, and has issued an unconstitutional executive order outlawing mail-in voting and requiring paper ballots. This move has sparked controversy and resistance, with many arguing that it infringes on the right to vote, a fundamental pillar of democracy.

The governor of California actively engaging against the impacts of the post-truth administration is Newsom. He has been at the forefront of resistance, challenging Trump's claims of record-high approval ratings and his declaration of real crime statistics as "fake". The social infrastructure of normalcy is battered, and the expectations of an American life, freedom, civil rights, advances in science, and creative new arts are no longer guaranteed.

The administration has been accused of ending six wars, according to its propaganda. However, the reality is far more complex, with ongoing conflicts and tensions around the world. The nightmare of a post-Constitution America is upon us, controlled by the GOP and Donald Trump. In this propaganda state, every report on every subject is said to come with a political angle and is rendered debatable and deniable.

The republic needs a shakeup that alters the administration's assumptions about normal Americans. Movements to resist the administration should focus on people's feelings, not necessarily facts. Economic boycotts of certain companies or sectors, national savings movements, general strikes, and protests that focus on messaging and people's feelings may be effective forms of resistance.

Trump has stated that ridding the country of the normal right to vote would "get rid of politics" forever, meaning one-party rule. This statement underscores the importance of standing up for democracy and protecting the right to vote. In the summer of 2025, Trump and the GOP have built a foundation for one-party rule, encamped in a newly hardened White House with troops and light armor.

It is crucial for citizens to withdraw consent for the administration's power. The administration claims to have done more than any in history, but its actions have raised concerns about civil liberties, democratic principles, and the rule of law. The struggle for power is far from over, and the future of America hangs in the balance.
