Portugal's EuroBasket journey has been a rollercoaster ride so far, with some highs and lows. The team's most recent outing was against Turkey on Saturday, a game that ended in a 95-54 loss for Portugal.

The match started promisingly for Portugal, as they scored the first point. However, Turkey quickly took the lead and never relinquished it. Portugal's starting lineup included Diogo Brito, Neemias Queta, Diogo Ventura, Travante Williams, and Miguel Queiroz.

The point difference grew steadily, with Turkey scoring 29 points in the second quarter alone. By halftime, the score was 51-27 in favour of Turkey. This loss against Turkey ended Portugal's winning streak in the tournament, following their initial victory against the Czech Republic in the tournament's opening.

Turkey, the strongest team in Group A, which is being held in Riga, Latvia, is now tied with leader Serbia at the top of the group with six points, both teams having perfect winning records. The Czech Republic remains in last place with three defeats and three points.

Looking ahead, Portugal's next game is scheduled for Monday, against Latvia, at 4 pm (Continental Portugal time). This match is crucial for Portugal's qualification to the next phase of the EuroBasket. Portugal is currently tied with Estonia and Latvia for third place with four points after three rounds.

Interestingly, Portugal had to wait 14 years to compete in the EuroBasket again. The team's victory against the Czech Republic in the tournament's opening marked the end of an 18-year drought without victories in the Eurobasket.

Neemias Queta was the best Portuguese scorer in the match against Turkey. Unfortunately, Portugal's game against Estonia is scheduled for Wednesday, starting at 12:45 pm, and the starting lineup for this match is yet to be announced.

Despite the recent loss, Portugal still has a chance to turn their EuroBasket journey around. Their upcoming matches against Latvia and Estonia will be decisive in determining their fate in the tournament.
