In the West Bank, occupied by Israel since 1967, violence has escalated since the start of the conflict in Gaza, around two years ago. This escalation has resulted in tragic consequences, as seen in a recent incident in a refugee camp in northern Cisjordan.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of two teenage boys, Islam Abdel Aziz Nouh Majarmeh and Muhammad Sari Omar Masqala, both aged 14. The boys were killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire on a group of civilians as they attempted to inspect their homes in the refugee camp.

The Israeli army is currently analysing information regarding the incident. However, it is known that they have been conducting operations in refugee camps of northern Cisjordan, aiming to suppress Palestinian armed groups that fight against Israel.

In the same period, at least 42 Israelis, including soldiers, have lost their lives in Palestinian attacks or Israeli military operations, according to official Israeli numbers. This violence has also led to the displacement of tens of thousands of people due to the opening of new access routes by the Israeli army in densely populated areas.

The Israeli army has also demolished dozens of buildings in various refugee camps in northern Cisjordan. According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 973 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers in this conflict.

It is important to note that this incident is not an isolated event. In the northern Gaza Strip, an incident resulted in the death of four Israeli soldiers. (Reference: "Also Read: Four Israeli soldiers killed in attack in northern Gaza Strip")

Tanks were sent to Jenin, for the first time in Cisjordan since the end of the second Intifada, adding to the escalating tension in the region. The international community is urged to intervene and work towards a peaceful resolution to this ongoing conflict.
