"Two exhibitions in Greifswald's Small Town Hall Gallery and St. Spiritus - a double showcase of viewing perspectives"
The city of Greifswald is set to celebrate its rich cultural heritage and the creativity of its residents with the upcoming exhibition titled "Soziokulturelle Zentrum St. Spiritus." Scheduled to open on Wednesday, August 20, the exhibition will be a two-part display at St. Spiritus and the Kleine Rathausgalerie.
The exhibition, which runs from August 21 to September 26, 2025, features around 120 artworks submitted by residents of all ages, from children to seniors. The collection includes photos, paintings, drawings, prints, textile and ceramic artworks, and other objects, showcasing the diverse talent within the city.
Imke Freiberg, the exhibition director, has expressed her excitement over the number of artworks submitted. She believes that the exhibition's success is a testament to the high level of creativity and talent among Greifswald's residents.
Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their five favourite pieces during the exhibition. The five most voted artworks will be released as a postcard series in November, making for a special and positive gift for Greifswald's anniversary.
The opening ceremony will take place at two different venues: Kleine Rathausgalerie at 6:00 PM and St. Spiritus at 7:00 PM. The screen printing action, featuring a Greifswald motif, will take place at St. Spiritus on September 25 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM as part of the exhibition's closing event.
Admission to the exhibition remains free, making it accessible to all. So, mark your calendars and join Greifswald in celebrating its rich cultural heritage and the creativity of its residents at the "Soziokulturelle Zentrum St. Spiritus" exhibition.
