Two incidents of irresponsible driving in downtown Frankfurt have caused safety concerns on the roads
In Frankfurt, Germany, a 20-year-old motorcyclist was apprehended by the police after attempting to evade them on Sunday morning around 03:10. The motorcyclist, whose license plates were reported as stolen, disregarded traffic rules throughout his evasion, driving recklessly through the city center and even flashing a middle finger at a police patrol car.
The motorcyclist's evasion ended when he fell off his bike without external influence in the area of Robert-Mayer-StraΓe. He continued to flee on foot but was soon apprehended by officers.
The known route of the VW Golf during the subsequent incident remains unknown. The driver of the VW Golf was eventually identified and found near his residence later that day. However, no information was provided about any injuries or charges resulting from these incidents.
It is important to note that in Germany, the police are responsible for immediate arrests, especially in cases of imminent danger. After the arrest, the responsibility for further investigation and the formal imprisonment (with a warrant) lies with the prosecutor's office. The term "Verhaftungsgemeinschaft" is not common in German law. Instead, one speaks of "responsibility for arrests" or "the competent authority."
Witnesses with information about the second incident (the VW Golf evasion) are asked to contact the police at 069 - 755 / 46201 or any other police station.
