In Bad Salzdetfurth, Germany, on March 20, 2025, a driver of a Nissan Micra was stopped by police officers in Hildesheimer Straße, Groß Düngen district. The driver, who is under 21 years old, was suspected of being under the influence of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

A urine test confirmed the driver's suspected THC intoxication, leading to the initiation of a criminal procedure according to § 316 StGB ("drunk driving"). The police also initiated a corresponding administrative offense procedure, conducted a blood test, and prohibited further driving for the driver.

The incident took place in the city of Bockenem, located in the 31167 postal code area. The driving ban for the driver lasts for one month. If convicted, the man may face the loss of his driver's license in addition to the usual criminal penalties.

This is not an isolated incident. Earlier in the day, around 11:40 AM, a man was arrested in Bad Salzdetfurth for driving under the influence of THC. The details of this individual were not disclosed.

The intake of cannabis is associated with restrictions in concentration and attention, as well as an extension of reaction and decision time. These impairments can have fatal consequences in road traffic and lead to serious accidents.

The Bad Salzdetfurth police have made it clear that they will continue to carry out similar controls in the future and consistently enforce violations.

In another incident in the evening, around 20:00, a road user on an electric scooter was stopped in Schlewecker Straße, Bockenem. The details of this individual were not provided in the article.

Despite the legalization of cannabis, driving vehicles after consuming cannabis remains prohibited and poses a high risk to road traffic. The police urge drivers to be responsible and aware of the potential dangers of driving under the influence of any substance.
